Art Zone Teacher
Mrs. Kate is a first year Art Teacher, long time art appreciator and lifetime artist. She is the Vice President of the Evangeline Arts Council, and she was EPSB's High School Teacher of the Year. Teaching art is Mrs. Kate's literal dream job, and she loves showing her students how to make the world beautiful with art! She's a mom of two boys, a dog lover, coffee enthusiast, and a lover of travel. She goes off of Kate Spade's words: " In order to lead a fascinating life one brimming with art, music, intrigue and romance; you must surround yourself with precisely those things."
Communications Zone Teacher
I am Mr. Smith, instructor of the communication zone. I greatly enjoy videography, gaming, and anime. I came to this amazing school with a background in advertising, marketing, and a video production company, so this felt like a great fit for me to teach students a little of what I know. Students retaining and executing the knowledge of public speaking, podcasting, video production, and editing, motivates me enough to wake up and give it my all to teach them these skills. E.R.A. will be recognized as the school that gave students the opportunity to be more and do more than they could have imagined and I am proud to be a part of it.
Farming Zone Teacher
Mrs. Chloe is a first year Farming teacher, and has a deep love for anything green and growing. She loves to spend her time playing in the garden, and could tell you a million different ways to preserve a tomato. When Mrs. Chloe went into education, she never thought that it would lead her to hanging out with chickens all day, but she couldn’t imagine a sweeter gig. She spent her entire childhood in and out of the garden and barn with her grandfather, so this job is definitely a return to her roots. She’s a mom of one daughter, loves everything cooking and canning related, and tries her best to instill a love for farming in every one of her students. Come join her in the Farming Zone, and check out what’s growing on the farm.
Gaming Zone Teacher
My name is Stephen Lacaze. I teach in the Gaming Zone. Together, we read, write, and create rule books for games of our own ideas.
The Art Zone is centered around visual arts, community involvement, and making connections between them. Year One consists of drawing and painting, with an emphasis on introductory art concepts. Year Two focuses more on three dimensional art work such as collage, sculpture, and intro to ceramics. Year Three focuses more on digital art and photography. In each of these years in the Art Zone, students learn about technique, art history, and their own personal style as they build their own portfolio of work. At the end of each year, students' work will be on display at an Art Exhibit, and art products will be sold at the ERA's Exposition. Students, throughout each year, take part in learning excursions that enrich their lessons with experience and hands-on activities. Come make something beautiful!
